双元创新正向跃迁有助于企业跳脱既定研发轨迹。文章基于专精特新“小巨人”认定这一准自然实验,探究其对双元创新正向跃迁的影响效应。研究发现:专精特新“小巨人”认定能够促进企业双元创新正向跃迁,且供应链扩充与分析师关注是其中的重要机制;异质性分析显示,在失败容忍程度较高、管理层较自信、人力资本水平较高及数字化转型程度较深的样本中,专精特新“小巨人”认定对企业双元创新正向跃迁的助推效应更为显著;进一步检验发现,财政补贴和税收优惠强化了专精特新“小巨人”认定对企业双元创新正向跃迁的激励效应,而政府采购的作用尚未显现。研究结论可为专精特新“小巨人”认定、企业双元创新正向跃迁提供有益参考。
Abstract:The positive transition via dual innovation enables enterprises to surpass conventional research and development pathways. This essay is based on the quasi-natural experiment of identifying "Little Giant" enterprises,those using specialized and sophisticated technologies for novel and unique products, and investigates its impact on the positive transition via dual innovation. The findings reveal that the identification of these "Little Giant" enterprises can significantly promote enterprises' positive transition via dual innovation. This effect is primarily attributed to the expansion of supply chains and increased attention from analysts. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that such promoting impact of identifying these "Little Giant" enterprises on positive transition via dual innovation is more pronounced in samples characterized by a higher tolerance for failure, more confident management, elevated levels of human capital, and more advanced digital transformation. Further investigation demonstrates that financial subsidies and tax incentives amplify the motivational effect of such identification on positive transition via dual innovation, whereas the influence of government procurement remains inconclusive. The research findings can serve as a valuable reference for the identification of "Little Giant" enterprises using specialized and sophisticated technologies for novel and unique products and for the enterprises' positive transition via dual innovation.
